Core WordPress Blocks

You will find many blocks available in the page editor including many custom blocks that we have created as part of our CALS v4 theme, or our custom plugins. WordPress provides a range of core blocks that are fundamental to content creation such as the paragraph, columns and heading blocks. This resource provides a full list of the core WordPress blocks provided by WordPress.

Important Note

Some blocks listed on the page are not available in the CALS v4 theme either due to removal or pending evaluation and styling before we release them into the theme. You will also find additional features and functionality available within various blocks in our CALS v4 theme because we have the ability to add style variants and extend functionality that doesn’t exist in the default block. However this guide covers all core WordPress blocks, and will provide you with a good introduction to their purpose and usage.
