    Blocks

    UW Today Events

The UW Today Events block allows you to embed events from today.wisc.edu on your page. You can filter by feed, tag, or specific event id, and easily control which fields are displayed.

      Filter

      • All Events – Displays all events from today.wisc.edu.
      • Tag – Allows you to only show events based on a specific tag. If you know the specific tag value, you can type it in. Otherwise, you can choose an option from the suggestions list.
      • Custom Feed ID – Show events from a curated feed. WiscWeb has some helpful documentation here on how to create a custom feed.
To display all CALS events, use event feed 30
      • Event ID – Show one specific event on your page. Any changes made on today.wisc.edu will reflect in the block on your page, though changes may not always display immediately. To get the event ID, open the event in today.wisc.edu, and enter the number at the end of the URL.

In the example https://today.wisc.edu/events/view/123456, 123456 is the event ID.

      Limit

The maximum number of events to display. It is recommended you keep this number no more than 5 to keep lists short and scannable. You can always add a button below the block that links out for users to view “More Events” on today.wisc.edu.

      Fields

Allows you to control which additional fields from the event will be displayed on the page. If there is no value for the field, the field will not display for that event. The title and date of the event will always be displayed.

      Example

Event Feed ID: 30, all fields visible
